Career Choices Workshops

The following workshops are three hours each and are held at Career Choices from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. The cost for each is $59. Please see Special Dates for current schedule.

Workplace Etiquette/Customer Service

  • Stresses the importance of excellent customer service in dealing with customers on the phone and in person.

  • Students also learn the most common etiquette mistakes and tips for building constructive relationships with co-workers, bosses, and clients visiting the office.

Organizing & Balancing Your Life

  • Includes time-saving tips and strategies for making the best use of the time available as well as avoiding the major time-wasters.

  • Students will also learn how to set clear, specific, written goals and strategies for achieving them.

Improving Your Image

  • Make that first impression a good one by learning the components of a positive professional image. Learn how "body language" can work to your advantage and ways to convey self-confidence, as well as tips on dress and overall image enhancement. Includes the importance of maintaining a positive attitude.

Interpersonal Communication Skills

  • Learn how to work cooperatively with difficult personalities at work and home as well as strategies for communicating effectively in any situation.

  • Learn how to become a better listener in order to solve problems and communicate more effectively.

Basic Office Skills

  • Learn 50 tips for succeeding in today's office environment.

  • Learn to accurately manage, store, and retrieve information. Includes alphabetic, numeric, subject, and geographic filing.

  • Learn how to use multi-line telephones, fax machines, copiers, and postage machines.
